My name is Kilian Palop, I was born in Barcelona 28 years ago. I am currently studying in Aberdeen, Scotland. I came to Aberdeen 4 years ago on an Erasmus program, thinking that I would spend only 6 month but I guess I was wrong!

I extended the Erasmus program for a year. At the end I finished my MEng in Aberdeen University. I went back to Barcelona to enjoy a well deserved holidays. In the middle of August I receive an email from my adviser offering a scholarship to start a PhD in October 2006; I couldn’t believe I could ever start a PhD. I love to challenge myself, and I thought it was a perfect excuse to see what I was capable of. At the moment I am at the end to accomplish the three years scholarship, and I think these are the worse month ever; too many things to do and not too much time. I am really lucky to have a family and friends that are helping me through this hard times, it won’t be possible without them.

One year and a half ago I thought it wasn’t enough to do a PhD and I started a company with my business partner Glenn Buchan. Being both student ambassadors promoting entrepreneurship amongst students in both university of Aberdeen encourage us to start our own entrepreneurship career.  I really recommend you to follow glenn’s blog as you will be able to learn a lot.

Another of my passions is the sports. I have been practicing triathlon since i was 16 years old. My commitment to see projects through to the end, refusing to give up until the job is done to high standards has been taught through sports.
